Maureen Denise McCormick was born on 5 August 1956 at Woodland Hills California the youngest and only daughter of Richard and Irene McCormick. Her father was an elementary school teacher, while her mother was mother at home. Michael Dennis Kevin is her three elder siblings. McCormick began performing and singing from a young age. At the age 6years old, she won the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley competition. Pat Domigan from the Jack Wormser Agency then called McCormick to inquire whether the actress was interested in a career in showbusiness. McCormick's first big job was in 1964 when she appeared in a TV commercial for Mattels new Baby Pattaburp doll. The same year, she starred in a second commercial on television for Chatty-Cathy's doll. The following year, McCormick was cast at La Jolla Playhouse to play the part of the character Wind It up and It breaks. The Brady Bunch McCormick's audition was in the company of over 1200 other kids for the part of the oldest towheaded girl in The Brady Bunch. The sitcom starred Florence Henderson and Robert Reed newlyweds, who shared the same family as a blended one. The show ran for five seasons. McCormick wrote in her book from 2008 Heres the Story : Surviving Marcia Brady & Finding My True Voice that she nearly ended her relationship in the fifth season of the show in the presence of Barry Williams, her co-star and on-screen brother. The actress was just 16 years older and the actor aged 19 at that moment. We would've had a romance, she said. However, the timing was not just right.
